In January 2011, Courrèges finally agreed to sell his company to private investors. The business side of creative dreams is more difficult in fashion than art. Fashion produces in series, and relies on many more multiple consumers than art. Fashion, unless couture, needs a mass. This means that fashion designers who make art like designs, are often limited to couture or costumes and may slowly lose influence in the aesthetic world.
