Jason Fosco's project A Woman a Day, is a pursuit of beauty, not in a fixed and final form, but as an ongoing event of reappearance. Each day the photographer documents a different woman in her found context. The serial nature of the project compares to Monet's haystacks or Ruscha's gas stations, each one as interesting as the next. The portrait format also speaks to the contemporary street style but with a focus on the facial properties and the defining aspects of hair and make-up. In a decade or more the project will continue to communicate female beauty but also reveal the unique aesthetics of our moment.
